Hi everyone
I've created this blog (first time I've ever done one!) so that family, friends and colleagues can keep track of my progress whilst I'm on my Brazil Trek in March.
During the trek itself, I hope to be able to send updates back to the UK via email or text message (reception in the jungle permitting!) so that my work colleague Matt can add them to this blog to keep everyone updated. At least I'll be able to check out the global coverage of my Blackberry and the Vodafone network!
If you don't yet know what it is that I am doing, or want to refresh your mind, then please take a look at my fundraising site at www.justgiving.com/andrew-edwards - the site is also still open for anyone wanting to make a donation!
With less than three weeks left to go until I travel to Brazil, I'm starting to get quite excited now. I'm doing some walking in the evenings as part of my training, and have been on a few hikes locally with my mate Ray who is acting as my personal coach and trainer! Next weekend we're off to Snowdonia for two days of hiking of between 30 and 35km. We were there between Christmas and New Year when the weather was cold, but bright and sunny (see picture above), so hopefully the weather will be kind to us again as this time we'll be camping out overnight too!
I'll let you know how it goes, and as I get closer to 6th March, what final preparations I will be making. In the meantime, if you want to know anything or have any comments, then please do post them on the blog.
Will catch up with you again soon.
Cheers
Andrew
